There are 1000 m in a km, and 100 cm in a m. So...there are 100000 cm in a km, or every km = 100000 cm. there are 1000mm in a m, or every m is 1000mm, so multiply by 1000. If the unit gets smaller, the number should get larger, and vice versa....
Do you think getting a digital camera with a higher number of megapixels (like 10.1) is worth the money?
Only if you're enlarging photos larger than say 11X14, and even at that my 6 megapixel camera takes a very good 11X14. If you do a lot of cropping then maybe yes. There are cameras out there with 7 to 10 megapixels that do not produce an excellent image as some with 4 and 5 megapixels. Do not buy a camera on the amount of megapixels alone, but on performance and features that are important to you....

Other than the medium format digital camera backs, most digital cameras (point and shoot and DSLR's) are either 3:4 or 2:3 ratio. The 2:3 ratio is what 35mm cameras produce on film (24x36mm). Your LCD screen is only an approximation of the composition. Therefore depending upon which sensor is in your camera, some of the formats will need no cropping.
